MU To Attend Global Day of Solidarity Protest in Support of The Writers Guild of America Strike

The MU will join other members of the Federation of Entertainment Unions to show solidarity in London’s Leicester Square on Wednesday 14 June.

The Writers Guild of America strike is an ongoing strike. It follows the expiration of their Minimum Basic Agreement (MBA) with the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers (AMPTP), who have not been able to offer an acceptable deal for a new contract for writers in the US.

The Writers Guild of Great Britain (WGGB), International Affiliation of Writers Guilds and Federation of Screenwriters in Europe, are joining together in Leicester Square on Wednesday, June 14 and have called on writers from across the globe to join.

The MU and other members of the The Federation of Entertainment Unions (FEU), will also be gathering to show support.

Show your support

For those wishing to show their support in person, WGGB have asked members to register in advance via Eventbrite so they know how many people will be attending.

The gathering will take place outside the statue of William Shakespeare in London’s Leicester Square, from 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm on Wednesday 14 June.

If you are unable to attend, the WGGB asks for support on social media using their assets.
