About Andy Bungay

I studied with Alwyn Green (BSO/CBSO) and joined the Royal Artillery Band in 1980-83, a greatmulti-genre apprenticeship. I studied Media Production in the mid 80s and worked a bit across the local Beeb and ILR, always hopeful to support independent music. I studied Composition with Paul Webster at Morley College, Brendan Beales at Goldsmiths' and had some advice from Errolyn Warren and Phil Cashian. Dots include the film score 'Up/Down Eve' (another, 'All Told' is in progress) , 'Outside Track' for the 2012 Olympiad Fringe, and a brace of Concerti. I studied Music Workshop Leading for group composition with Sound Connections which fed into my parallel working life in social care with clients, sometimes practicioners with Mental Health issues and Seniors fielding Dementia. I've also co-written with young people with Special Needs. I've been presenting on Riverside Radio www.mixcloud.com/andy-bungay , interviewing artists such as Dean Friedman and Ashley Slater for 8 years and my show celebrates and supports promising new artists at www.worldheartbeat.org. I'm a member of the Independent Media Association (seeking affiliation to the NUJ) I MC live gigs from time to time .My most recent regular gig was with the Vince Dunn Big Band (sitting 3rd) and I do various casual orchestral gigs from time to time.
