West End Cover Conductor Rates of Pay

Rates

These are recommended minimum rates of pay for conductors on West End shows when working as cover for the contracted MD from December 2022.

These rates apply to theatres that are covered by the SOLT agreement. Affiliate theatres are not covered by these rates.

  • A minimum of 1.5x the fee to the Keys 2 player (or equivalent, if no further keyboards are included in the orchestration) is payable
  • The additional rehearsal and captive time paid in addition to this at the applicable MU rehearsal pianist rate (currently £46.50p/h).
